Google's privacy and policy pages carry legal content that most people skim. The illustration set anchoring those pages needed a full refresh to align with a new visual direction.

A whole library, one new style
Recreate the complete illustration set across the privacy and policy documentation, covering sections from data collection and location tracking through to security, compliance, user rights, and EEA withdrawal instructions.
Legal clarity leaves no room for interpretation
Policy illustration has an unusual constraint. The image cannot imply anything the text does not say. Each scene had to be readable and warm without becoming loose enough to misrepresent the legal content underneath it.

A system, not a set
Every illustration was rebuilt in Figma against the new style guidelines, using a consistent visual grammar of line weight, brand colour placement, and composition. Recurring motifs, the shield, the scales, the document, carry across sections so the reader recognises the language even when the subject changes.
Every illustration was also delivered in dark mode. That meant deliberate decisions about colour, contrast, and legibility rather than an inversion, so both versions feel equally considered and neither reads as an afterthought.
The final library covers the full scope of Google's privacy and policy documentation in both light and dark mode, live across the platform.
